nah, but I'm guessing its from naruto. I have episodes 1-156 the movie and some bonus stuff on dvd but work and learning to drive and trying to get my business plan finished has meant I've only managed to watch the first 3 episodes.

Thinking of the best game of this generation is not easy. The 3 GTA games are excellent, as is Halo: Combat Evoled, and Halo 2, Fable likewise, Resident Evil 4 certainly. My choice is GTA: San Andreas. There is just so much to do in it.

Get a GameCube with Resi 4. Not that expensive, and there's a shitload of amazing games you can pick up for under a tenner nowadays.

The point is, that'll cost a lot more and I'm not too fussed about not playing the other games available on the GC. What I want to know is if PS2 Resi 4 is as bad as people were saying it was going to be...

If you haven't played the GC version, then you won't be subconsciously comparing the two and deciding you hate the ps2 one. I'm sure it's great anyway, especially if you also get one of those chainsaw controllers.

He has a point as you have never played the cube version you will not see the PS2 version as inferior, though if you do compare them side by side you will note the reduced texture res, plus reduced resolution overall leading to many jaggy edges and the fact that you never see that many foes on screen I was certainly never mobed in the numbers that regularly attacked me on the cube version (plus I noticed they seem to fade away a lot quicker).
On the plus side you do get proper widescreen suport in the PS2 version (it is slightly letterboxed on the cube, for no reason I can think of), and you get Ada's missions.

Yes, I know there's still one or two notable upcoming releases across the big three (Zelda: Twilight Princess on GameCube; Shoot the Pakis 3 on Xbox; Eyetoy: Pattacake on PS2 i think you missed one: 'Honkys Quest to Escape the Sun'. a classic where Honky must find all the sun-cream tubes before the time runs out and he turns red and explodes.

The point is, that'll cost a lot more and I'm not too fussed about not playing the other games available on the GC. What I want to know is if PS2 Resi 4 is as bad as people were saying it was going to be... if its a choice of exchanging a few 'jaggies' for a bonus mission (seperate ways) which took me 6+ hours to complete i would say the ps2 version is definitely worth it. i may even go so far as to say that makes it the definitive version. if on the other hand its like comparing the xbox and ps2 versions of the first Splinter Cell, i played the xbox one first and instantly thought it was a classic but when i got rid of my xbox and bought a ps2 version (which incidently also had an exclusive whole new level) i was hugely disappointed. it had excessive loading times but the main problem was that the gameplay was simplified and much less engaging. then i would favour the GC version. basically i loved the ps2 versionof RE4 but haven't played the GC one. but if you can judge them without rose tinted glasses whichever one is better the ps2 version is well worth it.
