Yeah, they should go back to releasing games that you play on boards, using a 20 sided die. Stop forcing us into electronic entertainment, you fascists!

They can store the games on a f**king slice of toast for all I care. That brings back memories of a MattBeeching post of old! Best games this gen: Elder Scrolls - Morrowind: The game which consumed most of my time this gen. Resident Evil 4: Nuff said GTA 3: Vice City was more refined but number 3 was the one with the wow factor for me. Bought it on release having read no reviews or previews - just knew it was in 3D for the first time. Needless to say it convinced 4 of my friends to rush out and buy PS2's. Gradius V: I love it. That's reason enough for me and I don't care if I haven't convinced anyone else of this title's greatness. Power Stone: Had to fit a DC title in Awesome game, will it ever return?

Mine doesn't have any problems, except for the blue discs.....grr Mine plays the blue discs fine, its just the newer titles it has problems with. My youngest brother has a PS2, and that plays everything you put in it perfectly.

I have a few favourite games of this generation, here they be:
Devil May Cry 3 - just because it's so amazingly awesome and has great gameplay and replayability. Coming up with new combos and showing off makes this a highlight for my dying PS2.
Resident Evil 4 (GC) - I only recently got this and I am very impressed with it. Its not scary at all but packed full of so much action and great set pieces. Plus it has got OVEN MAN in it!
F Zero GX - the steep learning curve made me play this game over and over until I was good at it. And then I was hooked. Sometimes whilst playing this I'm so tense that my eyes feel like they are bulging outta my face. As a result of F Zero I'm now a jittery wreck shaking in the corner of my room...
Other shout outs go to Gradius V, Paper Mario, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Amplitude.

I wish these big companies would just leave things alone, we've already been forced into buying DVD's and now they want everyone to suddenly switch to yet another format. It does'nt impress me one bit. DJ you are just going to have to get used to it, DVD's are far better than vhs and when HDTV becomes mainstream then one of the two HD discs is going to become the standard, as normal DVD's don't look fantastic on a HD screen.

You almost made me feel sorry for the 0.5% of the population who actually own a HD-TV.

So we'll have to buy all our DVDs again on HDDVD? That'll suck.

What annoys me more than anything though about the whole HD thing is the fact that these companies seem constantly determined to make everyones DVD's and hardware obsolete. Standard DVD's only being the market leader for just a couple of years and despite this we're looking at yet another change in format. I think personally it's just a plot to empty our wallets.

I think personally it's just a plot to empty our wallets. Such is the nature of capitalism, I'm afraid. Steal from the poor, give to the rich.

I was merely showing that what molov said contradicted what you said, and was defending the rights of a fellow 16-year-old. If you don't like it, I'll just leave the forum because it's gone downhill/I've gone mental because I didn't take my medication!
Would it have made it clearer if I'd used quotes or something? I couldn't be bothered.

normal DVD's don't look fantastic on a HD screen. DVD's look crap on HD screens when you couple them with a bog standard DVD player as it is more capable of showing the player's shortcomings. It continues to amuse me that people spending so much on a TV fail to see this link. Compared of course to my behemoth of a setup which looks nothing short of outstanding (Star Wars: EpIII - OMG, how good is the picture!)- If I do say so myself. I'm naturally very excited about the new formats but I totally agree they really are arriving far too early. This whole format war really is going to be painful.
