Will I be lynched for saying that I recently downloaded an emulator and a pile of games to play on it, and found the N64 thoroughly underwhelming? Goldeneye still has a certain something about it, but compared to Halo feels somewhat dated. Of course, I AM trying to play these games on a PS1 pad, so that could be my problem. I'll map Halo's controls to Goldeneye and see if I can make it seem a bit less rubbish. It really is not going to astound anyone now... but they still have a playable charm... sometimes I just have this random urge just to play Ocarina of Time, Mario 64 just to have a quick mess about.... the controls are not as fluid as Wind Waker or Mario Sushine... but they still have a certain nostalgic charm that always draws me back. Golden Dragoon! That was the game! I loved the music in Mystical Ninja! I found out a few months ago that Silicon Valley and Body Harvest were both Rockstar (actually from Game Central), but I never did complete Body Harvest... Great game (I remember it being delayed for ages... I think Nintendo made them redo it as initially it was terrible... was this just a rumour or is it true?). There was one point I couldn't get pass, but then I remember reading somewhere that Body Harvest apparently had a bug near the end of the game that prevented you from completing so I just gave up. I remember Street Fighter on the C64 also having a bug that stopped you from finishing the game... Damn Sagat... I have to say that on the N64 none of my games saves were ever erased... now the Snes... I must of completed Mario Kart and Mario All-Stars three/four times each since it kept getting wiped.

Hmm I found out why I could never complete SSSV there was a bug that stoped you from collecting some stuff towards the end of the game, I don't know about the body harvest bug though, I completed it.

Really? Maybe it was just a rumour then... I don't think I have the energy to go back to Body Harvest...

I remember Street Fighter on the C64 also having a bug that stopped you from finishing the game... Damn Sagat... Hmmm....was it a bug or was it deliberate? Back in '86 I was working for a company called "Soft Design", they'd produced conversions of "Airwolf" and "Rollercoaster" for their respective publishers (Amstrad versions IIRC). Both games were deliberately made impossible to complete as, due to deadlines, they didn't have time to finish the conversions.... I wonder just how often this occurred in the industry back then? TTFN - Pete.

But... the N64 is shit: www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=7206534&publicUserId=5379721Good old Parish. You can always rely on him to hate everything. You guys should totally write some replies like the ones he's already got -- something like "you're wrong because the controller is good and Mario Kart was fun".

You guys should totally write some replies like the ones he's already got -- something like "you're wrong because the controller is good and Mario Kart was fun". But the controller was shit and Mario Kart was only fun when you didn't have the fat kid sat next to you grabing your controller out your hand to stop you from winning.
