God, this is a hard one...
I think it was Predator on the ZX Spectrum, though I can't be sure.

Loooong time ago....yikes
Would have to be "the Running man" game on the spectrum. But it was faulty so i sent it back and brought a commodore 64. So technically my first game ever played was terminator 2 on the c64.

Burrh. First game of my own was Zool on the Amiga 1200. Although I'm pretty sure before hand I'd played (in no particular order) Zelda LttP, Sonic 1 (Master System), Mario Allstars, and a few other games on my Uncles consoles.

Aah, the memories. To be completely honest with you I can't remember, I'd like to say Monkey Island, but it was far more likely to be windows pinball, but as that isn't a real game, I'll go with shareware worms. That and shareware doom, I hammered those two when I was younger.

The very first game I played? Pong, at a very early age. Compared to all the mainstream modern rubbish you lot have mentioned this makes me look pretty hardcore.

oo i vaguely remember playing something on the old windows 3.1 and it was horrible i never completed it, i think theres a better but equally as dodgy version of it on the skybox now and then i found somebodies laptop and played sonic - o good times and yet i still have no proper games console other than the computer

I can actually remember the first three games I ever played which is somewhat bizarre I find, considering that the first game I played was at the age of four years old way back in 1977/1978. It was Atari's Night Driver and it was in a hotel in Bridlington in the UK. As far as I can remember, this was probably the first (if not the first) true video racing game. It certainly doesn't look much now but at the time I can remember being truly astounded! I can also remember watching my uncle playing it for what seemed like hours on end. Be amazed at the graphics; The second game I played was the classic Space Invaders. I can't remember where I played this but I suspect it was in a God-awful working mens' club in a rough area of Nottingham where my grandparents lived. I still play this occasionally (via emulation of course!) but never for long; it's too boring. I think I just like the sound effects really! Here's a screen shot; ...the version I played was purely black and white. If you were lucky, you sometimes came across a COLOUR version! It was faux colour though; there was a three-colour acetate overlay placed over the screen! My third game was King And Balloon. I played this in the Bass Social Club in Burton on Trent in the very early 80s. It was a sort of Space Invaders rip-off but in true colour. The most memorable (and I thought amazing at the time) thing was that it was the first time I'd heard digitized speech in real life! I still play this via MacMAME (yeah, I'm a Mac user but I'm not bitter!) just because of the cries of 'HELP! HELP! HELP! BYE BYE!' remind me of the fact that, because it was at Bass, we kiddies were allowed to drink FREE BEER! Okay, it was alcohol-free but at the time it made me feel like a man! A pretty unremarkable game really but not so at the time and, with hindsight, it was one of those seeds that have kept me interested in gaming ever since; Well, I hope you've found this interesting. I've got two-and-half decades of video gaming memories and knowledge so if you want to know anything else, just ask! Cheers!

I remember reading about Night Driver and the acetate Space Invaders "colour" screen. p.s: Would you mind reducing your signature size a bit please, it stretches the forum
