Went into a gaming shop today, and what do I see in the glass case. None other than the first MegaDrive. For £30. MINE. It'd only been given to the shop last night. So now I have a replacement megadrive as part as my xmas presents XD

Well Merry Christmas. I seen back in November in the window of Gamestation in Ayr, Scotland the Mk1 versions of the Megadrive and Mega CD for £34.99. A bargin since Mega CD's usually cost around at least £40. So I bought it. AND I got a WWF game too, which I not interested in so nwah. I'm not boasting. Megadrive 1's are becoming rarer so fair play. Oh and have a Happy Birthday.

I made the mistake of selling my megadrive 1 to my brothers ex and then a while later saw a megadrive 1 master system converter at a car boot sale for 2 quid

Still sucks, cus I can't find any decent enough games for it. And only Ecco the Dolphin I've seen was for the Genesis version.

The Megagames pack is usually easy to find, and has Golden Axe, Streets of Rage and Super Hang On on it (and three others). Frankly, I've become quite disgusted at the speed that the PAL Mega Drive runs at, I never remembered it being so bad. I'm considering spluging on a Nomad or Japanese version.

Try ebay DG, if you look carefully you can get quite a few decent titles for a couple of quid including P&P.

If you fancy renovating it, I've got a "mint" copy of Streets of Rage II that I paid £30 for. I didn't get to test it until after the shop's guarantee ran out, and then discovered that it didn't work. I suspect it has dodgy connectors (not so uncommon in cartridges), although dousing the whole thing in lighter fluid did little to remedy the problem.

Phantasy Star 3 is a good bet, one of the very few RPGs I've actually really enjoyed.

I have both the megapacks mentioned in this thread, and they're very good.

I had a Mega CD 'Mega' pack too which contained Golden Axe, Streets of Rage (best of the bunch), Monaco GP, columns and Shinobi.

Remember the original Wonderboy? That was amazing! A caveman! On a skateboard! Eating fruit! Throwing sticks at snails! Knocking the head off a giant badger at the end of every level! The Master System version of Wonderboy in Monster Land was excellent too, although hardly very similar to the original Wonderboy game.

What exactly was the buzz all about with platforming Cavemen in the bloody Nineties? Wonderboy, Chuck Rock, Joe and Mac, Ug, Prehistoric Man. I swear there are many many more. Which reminds me... This brilliant website I recently stumbled across should interest a fair few of you GC'ers. Even Wonderboy is there www.everyvideogame.comIt's not a ROM site Jammy Jamie so don't get your knickers in a twist!

Sega released Altered Beast on the NES? That's... bizarre. Edit: It doesn't have the Master System version of Ghouls 'n Ghosts. Disappointment reigns.

For your f**king information, I don't care if anyone plays ROMs. What I do care about is not getting the forum deleted, as don't you I'm assuming. It's PROBOARDS that stops us discussing/sharing them etc, not me. Seen those kind of sites before, anyway.

The Master System Castle of Illusion was ace. So was the Mega Drive version, actually, I just prefer the minimalism of most Master System versions of games. (Note: this does not apply to Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, or Sonic 2+)
