I have too much work to do more. Anyway, has anyone seen it and if so what were your impressions?
Personally, I was disappointed. The problem is with his entire premise. He states in the features that he wanted to focus more on the visuals now that he had the time, credibility and money... which he succeeded in doing... but for me this became a case of style over substance.
It is definately worth watching, but another problem for me is that I never felt the CGI sequences really worked along side his 'normal' style. Plus it also feels like an echo of the first film, but I think that is what it was suppose to be.
What annoyed me the most, however, has nothing to do with the anime, but with marketing. On the box cover it states in big letters "From the creator of Spirited Away and Howls Moving Castle"... What?!
After checking apparently the producer of the above films came into Innocence half way through production to co-produce... He is just the money man for Studio Ghibli and this film... If they used the word producer instead of creator I would be more forgiving.
Anyway, Oshii has enough recognised works under his belt to be recognised on his own merits.

I love this film im a ghost in the shell addict i own everything to do with ghost in the shell right now. But the only reason i like this film is becasue i understand it deeper than alot of other people who watch it, and the reason its a echo of the first film is becasue its a continuation of the story, given that motoko was never seen again after the first film leaves room for a continuation. another reason its the same is due to the fact that alot of crime that happens in the ghost in the shell universe is cyber crime. The fact that its robots instead of humans being controled is great as it lets u open up the story alot more. And i love the last fight the way motoko's cyborg body moves is so fluid being the fact that the body dosn't have full motor fuctions she does amazingly well to control it + batou's new arm is cool The only thing i wish had been in this film are the fuchikomas or the tachikomas or the hybrid ones.

Take this as a compliment, please.
Molov uses punctuation and capital letters now. Praise the lord. ;D

Not entirely. But he's getting close to 50% punctuated and correctly capitalised, which puts him on the right side of tolerable.

I gathered much of that already, I might watch it again over the summer to see if I change my mind... Have you read the review on Midnight Eye?

Had GITS2 for a while, I'm not expecting much despite being a longtime fan of the original. I only have the 2 channel audio mixes and in my cinema that's a big no no. Sainsburys don't have the second disc with the DTS track for rental the swines.
