Usually our home nations hope of winning major tournements are dashed by a certain referees desicion. Even if perfectly placed camaras show that the football goes slightly over the white line and thats a goal, the referee says otherwise. It's time for the referee to be removed from the pitch.

But then who would Wayne Rooney have to shout at during the 90 minutes. In all seriousness though I agree that refereeing needs improving. I think FIFA were going to introduce a chip in the ball for goalline decisions in this years' World Cup, but the technology isn't ready yet.

Oh, stop whining. If it's not the referee then it's an ancient voodoo curse, or the alignment of Mars and Pluto. Jeez, talk about paranoid...
Whereas Scotland are just shite.

What help would removing the referee make? Removing "law enforcement" won't lead to anything good, and then how will the game be played?
Referees are under a lot of pressure and can't make the right decision all the time. That's why they should be allowed to call upon video evidence during the game. I dunno why that hasn't happened yet...

Replacing the players with hyper-accurate soccerbots might solve the whole problem, although it'd probably mean Japan and USA would suddenly become the Brazil and Germany of the football world.

On other sports-related news, MP Tony Banks (sports minister) died the other day! Hooray! (He didn't like games, and thought they influenced people to rejoice when people they didn't agree with died. How wrong he was.)

I will not be complaining too loudly, if Michael Owen gets the winner in the Final, and it then appears he's six yards offside.

I would, I'd want him to be 12 yards off and catch the ball before scoring.

If followed then this ridiculous idea would transcend into football computer games. Half the fun of Pro Evo is the ref making a bastard of a decision every so often.

Did they fix the rugby style advantage rule for Pro Evo 5? That irritated me no end in Pro Evo 4.
