Well as always these are subject to change, but they are much closer to the Xbox 360's specs than I thought they would be.

I thought they were supposed to be better? That's what 1up said. And why shouldn't they be? Just because the 360 is by microsoft and the original xbox was most powerful, all the new consoles are coming out at about the same time so should be similar with no noticable "loser".

I don't know why Sony have chosen those specs, though I have to note that they are subject to change, but most of the time the announced specs are what you get in the end. I admit I was worried about Nintendos claims that the Revolution would be 3 times more powerfull than the curent gen consoles, until I realised that Nintendo always quote ingame figures, hence the Cube was by Nintendos reconing 2-3 times more powerful than the N64, but actualy exceded the Xbox in many things and the Xbox was "100" times more powerful than the previous generation, so I am taking Microsoft and Sony's claims with a pintch of salt.

Looks like Xbox 360's supposed terraflop shits on the 218 Gigaflops of the PS3.

Since the Revolution is the only console that won't be using that new, nasty CELL programming stuff, I'd imagine it'll be the only one that will actually process lines of code quicker than the previous generation anyway. What were Sony and Microsoft thinking in making it HARDER for developers to make games for them?

Actualy Nintendo are using an evolution of the Gekko processor that is in the current Gamecube, the main difference is the clock speed (3ghz+) and the fact it has 3-4 processing units rather than just 1 also there are many other improvements. The Xbox has a 3 cored PowerPC5 processor based cpu running at 3.2ghz and the PS3 has a 7 cored Cell, though it must be stated that the Cell is an in order processor whereas the Xbox360 and Revolutions are out of order processors which lead to greater performance, so they should be pretty evenly matched.

Looks like Xbox 360's supposed terraflop shits on the 218 Gigaflops of the PS3. Actualy the PS3 boasts 2 Terraflops total system performance, and the Xbox 360 has just 1 Terraflop total system performance.

Gamecube worldwide sales are a tiny bit higher than Xbox's, The REvolution is being released at the time of the PS3's launch, the DS has outsold the PSP in every teritory by a 3 to 1 margin not including Europe in which the PSP hasn't launched, in the US you can buy a DVD player for $9.99 after rebates and in the UK DVD players are also very cheap, so why do you need one in a console ? almost all multi platform FPS games are out on the Gamecube and it has Metroid Prime and soon Geist as well, plus Nintendo have always had the No. 1 hardware title, the GBA has sold more units than the PS2 thus giving them the crown so they will not be "run out of bussness" as you put it.
If you are really going to rant about things you should at least check your facts, many people beleive ill educated "facts" like that which are posted on forums regularly giving other people who also do not know the facts the wrong impression of Nintendo and giving them and inflated opinion of Sony and Microsoft.

Of course you can post what you hear, but people also have the right to correct you too Don't take it as an insult as you are learning by others correcting you

I am sorry if I seem a little harsh, but I am tired of hearing people put down a company because of untruths, I hear it at work all day when people won't buy an AMD system because Intel ones are X.XXghz and the AMD one is half that and crappy, unreliable ect... Though I do stand by what I said, people read things such as, "the gamecube is crappy and has been outsold by everything" and they beleive it, tell it to a few other people and in no time the rumors are spread. I admit I am no great Microsoft fan, but I really do like Sony so I cannot really be acused of being a Nintendo WANGRA (hell most of the games I buy are PS2, but that is in part caused by the lack of RPG's on the Cube)
