I saw the ad, but VHS isn't dead. My mum and nan would refuse to faff about with DVDs claiming they don't know how and that VHS is easier to use. Yeah you'll say they can learn but we don't have one and they won't listen

Also when recording with it, would you have to use them quickcode things given in the TV mag? As all the do it record from the start time to the end giving no leeway for early start or overrun.
If not, can it skip between programmes? And how would it not include adverts in that?

I use an 80 gig Humax Freeview Box. It kicks ass since it merrily records Neighbours for me on a daily basis - Truly a delight for the full-time worker. It also assists necessary emergency trips to the off-licence and toilet thanks to the magic of pause.

I just use mine as a replacement video recorder, I have my pc for all the funky pvr stuff Mine can take videoplus codes, and just like video recorders generaly gets the whole episode of whatever if it is pushed back by sports. though you don't have to use them, I often just chuck in a dvd and hit record just before a program starts.

Why has this topic even been resurrected?
VHS has died now as the goddamn shops have completely removed it from their shelves, it will forever be missed, damn you DVD!!!

DJ, pre-recorded DVDs are much better. Smaller, better quality, and no rewinding.
I have been arguing the case for recordable VHS.
