AMD processors kick ass. They're also much easier to put in than intel (the fan is proper awkward to get on)

$122!!! thanks man ;D along with the other stuff, sound card and graphics crad... well the cards added with this should come to around £500 but I will continue checking other sites like ebay and going to computer places asking for these... I see... okay so what is the best motherboard that would be compatible with this athlon processor? Okay... How about giving me the names that are supposedly the best which is also compatible all together? that would save me having to buy them, find out that they are not compatible and return them... Golden Dragon... help? ;D

The best of the best ehh this is my kind of quest Athlon 64 FX57 Socket 939 (out soon, or a fx55 for now) 1GB Corsair TwinX low latency PC4400 ram (2x512mb) 4x WD Raptor 10,000rpm 74gb HDD's (Raid 0 setup ultra fast ) 2x GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme PCI-E cards (SLI setup) Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Platinum A big ass server case your choice Asetech waterchill antartica KT12A-L30 water cooler with twin rads, and an extra GPU block. Tagan 480W silent PSU (the best there is, I have 2 that should say something about them ) Asus A8N-SLI deluxe mother board (need something to plug all those things into this setup will cost lots, and prob not be worth it (well it will be prehaps one of the 100 fastest computers to run 3dmark in the world, but in practicle terms it ain't worth it), but unless you give me a budget I can't tell you what you want to know

HEHE... I was waiting for this... hmmm... why only 74gbs? for the hard drive I mean... I don't know what most of these are... I am sorry... but you say it ain't worth it? hmmm... all this is compatible with each other right? well... I need at least 200gb hard drive... I apologise but could you put it in a simpler format for me... beginner here... or average whatever... could you put it in something like... Graphics card - blah blah blah sound card - blah blah blah processor - blah blah blah At the moment I have a gig ram stick DIM... >>>>> but unless you give me a budget I can't tell you what you want to know <<<<< umm... lets say £1500 to around £2000 ... this should be better than the 500 quest for ya and hopefully for me as well lol hey... im a college student lol I don't have a ton of doh to spend so...

Well it is 4x74gb drives for a 296gb ultra fast raid array, though as I noted it will be very expensive, as we don't acualy stock any of those components (bar the Tagan PSU which is £78 from us) due to them being ultra high end parts and prob wouldn't sell. I sugest you consult www.planetprices.co.uk as they list almost all online retailers and are very good.

I dunno if anyone has heard about this... but I was told something about using an irwell??? i heard that it duel wields processors (yay 2xamd athlon lol) basically here's what I am going to do... buy a new graphics card, buy a new case, hdd, motherboard (mentioned above... irwell or somethin) and that's it... then transfer my sound card and such from my old comp to the new one... I don't need no new sound card... and 1.5 gig of ram is ok... (too bad my monitor is a petit 15''... ugh... ) I love my gaming mouse with 8 buttons (reviewed on gamespot) and I love my keyboard with many shortcuts... ;D ok... lemme break it down... what is this irwell im hearing about?

as a future investment then yes, but for curent games there will be no improvements, unless a patch is made avalible for the game. General windows usage and stuff like video encoding ect.. will be a lot faster though, and future games (and popular ones that get patched) will take advantage of DC processors. My advice is go with the AMD Athlon 64 X2, as you can buy any Socket 939 motherboard and a DC processor will work in it right away (meaning you can buy SC now and upgrade later. With Intels Pentium D DC processors you will need to buy a new motherboard if you want to upgrade later.
