Some twat sent my brother a file called sexy.jpg.pif via MSN. The moron assumed it was a stupid picture since he didn't notice the .pif part and since double clicking on the file, eveyrtime I start up the PC and log in a html file appears automatically called l0l_s3xy_l0l.html and there are files with names like titanic2.jpg.pif and she's so fukin fit.pif on my hard drive. All these are .pif files and try to send themselves whenever myself or my brother log in to MSN.
Does anyone know a way to get rid of these files without backing up all my files and then running System Recover to put the PC back to factory condition?

I guessed they probably didn't realise about they'd sent it sicne it trys to send itself automatically. But I don't really like the guy who sent it and since him, me and my brother are all in the same online YuGiOh league knocking out our MSN might give him an advantage.

Won't a normal antivrirus scanner clear it?

Not yet. The site les linke dto has some stuff that allegedly works, but so far the online virus thing refuses to work, and the trial version of PC-cillin is crap since the reg. codes don't work and when "installing" (the download works fine if you find the .exe file and don't click on the "installer") wants me to remove any of its competitors products.
Also, if anyone here has me on their MSN lists, then block me for the time being. As soon as I log in it tries to send itself to people and swaps the left and right mouse buttons functions round. Because of that I'm quite likely to accidentaly end up sending people it.
I think I'm jsut going to move all my files and stuff to my iPod and then run System Recovery and wipe the whole hard drive clean.

i know this virus i had it, it can be called many different things the one i got is called serfolg and be careful if left too long it will change the binary of the os and you won't be able to load up. the only choice i had was to wipe my comp i have a anti serflog thing not sure if it will solve your problem but if you want it i can e-mail it you.
