I was just wondering if anyone else has an ipod or is thinking of buying one. I think they are pretty good except for the fact that you can't turn it off .What do you guys think ?

No, definitely not. Reason = waaaaaay too expensive, although I would like to own one! ;D I'm guessing others are going to get one, seeing as we have technology lovers here. Maybe Matt or Golden Dragoon will get one

iPod. How to turn something a bit naff into something rather hip. Do kids still use that word, hip?
mp3s, shit. Portable audio, for tossers. Therefore: iPod, shit for tossers.
Portable Mpeg-4 players, that's the shit. You can watch Taylor Rain getting creampied on the move. Or the latest Will Smith film, if you're not into your porn.

You've just convinced me to get an mpeg-4 player.
Are you in sales?

I just ordered a ipod of Amazon yesterday. It's f**king dumb that they don't seem to be making the 15gb one anymore just aso people'll buy the stupidly over priced iPod mini (£179 for a 4gb mini, or £189 for a 15gb ipod? I wonder which one people'll buy?).

Who the hell needs to store 40,000 tracks though? I mean, why not just make a 500mb/1gb one? Surely that'd be plenty.

I have a Samsung MP3 player that I only use in the car. But I am really excited about the Gizmondo I was talking to them at their stand in the EGN and I am convinced this can carve out a slice of the market of its own. Plus the guy sliped up by using an example of a bond game, when I asked if that mean EA are developing for it he of course said "No Comment" But it really sounds good. it has. GPS built in (Free) Wireless internet multi play (Free) Movie Player (all formats compatible) Music player (See above) and much more

Why don't I drop you down the stairs a few times to test your toughness eh?
Two more things about iPod:
Click Wheel=Awesome
Chrome/Steel back=Smudgeliciously crap

I really don't need your help to fall down the stairs I have done it enough myself so I must be quite tough. But seriusly almost all of my portable things (CD player, GBA, MP3 player ect..) have had a trip down the stairs at some point or another and the only one of those that has broken has been my Sony discman which upset me a lot as I had only had it for a week, Lucky I was able to take it back and claim it didn't work when I got it

I've had my ipod (20gb) since last christmas and it's been used pretty intensely since then. One thing I would have to warn about is the battery life, which despite being one of the most popular consumer electronics products in the world and hand feeding Apple billions of dollars is still SHIT!! My ipod (quoted battery life 8 hours) is now getting about 3-4 off a full charge that's a 50% loss in 11 months, for something that cost £300!!! I realise I have the slightly older model but if you check the apple website they still have the same bullshit disclaimer about 'all batteries lives coming to an end at some point' about the latest model, depsite having to replace millions of batteries in the states!
You'd seriously think they'd give it a bit of thought and sort it out, Sony's new hard disk music player boasts twice the battery life of a new ipod! So it can't be that difficult to sort it out!
Still that new photo ipod with the colour screen looks so cool, I might have to splash out again!
end rant!

I was going to get a creative zen or muvo or whatever the frig it's called from ebuyer. Apparently it has a 14 hour battery life, and I don't need one with more than 2gb memory (Unfortunately I could only find 512 and then 4GB models)

I have an iRiver H340 since I decided on funtionality over style. Also happens to be the first dedicated jukebox with a colour screen (since the Archos etc. are pocket media devices and don't count). This also means I can store vast amount of porn for viewing on the train. One of the main reason I went for it though was the greater battery life and the ability to leave it to charge off 4 AA should I ever find myself stranded without a plug socket. Can also manage and share files with other jukeboxes without the need for a computer - so there!
