They are both better than IE but I prefer Opera rather than mozilla

As a past Opera user I'd say Opera... which reminds me that I ought to download it again.

the newest version is even better than the last The layout is a little different but it is actualy better and if you like the old layout you can make it that way.

What are the differences between the free and commerical versions? I always get suspicious when I see programs available for free.

...like Kazaa and Imesh, their free ones have spy/adware or whatever.

Althought I don't think the makers of such a respected browser would stoop so low, there may be adverts or annoying "Register now" windows that appear upon loading the program

The free version of Opera has adverts built into the browser skin. They don't appear to slow it down though, and they can be ignored if you pop your Windows Media Player over them.

I just downloaded Opera. The forum comes up weird in it, and the overall thing seems a bit weird.

I swear by the gecko rendering engine. Mozilla is good for stability and selection of apps. Firefox is really customizable. I've never liked opera that much, seemed a bit slow to me. If possible get a browser that uses the khtml rendering engine, its almost as fast as the gecko engine but more forgiving.

I've tried opera and mozilla now, but didn't like Opera's layout etc, and Mozilla was just like IE, but a lot slower.

Opera 7.53 It's by far the best browser. It's also the most secure browser. Also, Firefox requires you to download and install extensions yourself for even the simplest of tasks such as saving an image. I can give you a serial number for Opera if you don't want to see the adverts.
