It's been a waste of space for quite a while but has the time of the PSP finally arrived? With the recent release of top quality games i think it's a matter of time before it becomes the handheld of choice. Here are a few of the games that have recently impressed me:
Crisis Core: FF7 - A (new) Final Fantasy game on a handheld is bound to be good. Great Graphics, solid gameplay, it is a success in it's own right. But set in the world of FF7 (generally regarded as the best game ever) it's a piece of gaming magic.
GOW: Olympus - Another game with top quality graphics that would give the Wii (let alone the DS) a run for it's money. Basically if you liked the PS2 games it is of the same quality (not a rubbish simplified version as you usually get on handhelds).
FF Tactics - Unlike the rubbish DS version this is a port of the PS1 classic with extra job classes, characters (including Balthier from FF12) and cutscenes. Also the whole dialogue has been overhauled to match FF12's olde english (both games are set in the same world).
Jeanne D'arc - Another game in the mould of FFT and just as good. Easily an Advance Wars beater in my books. Also theres Disgaea if you like your strategy RPGs but i'm not a fan. I hate games where you have to make your own characters out of generic clones (a Nippon Ichi trademark).
Puzzle Quest - A puzzle game like nothing that has come before it. Combining puzzle and RPG elements it has a large fanbase already and appears to be the future of Tetris type puzzle games.
Then theres personal choices which won't appeal to everyone like Warriors Orochi (as you may be aware i'm a Dynasty Warriors fan) which finally brings the full DW experience to the PSP.
Obviously there are a lot of others that i didn't mention (like MGS), but i have kept this a list of games i have played myself.
I was just wondering if there are any that have impressed any of you and how you reckon it holds up to the DS now.
