The problem is that the PSP is horid for fighting games, I have never played one on a PSP myself, but it seems the D-pad is appaling, the square button won't work properly unless you have sledge hammers for thumbs and the less said about the anlog disc option in fighting games the better, I am not proclaiming that the DS is any better for fighting games (are there any on it even?) but the PSP sure wasn't made for some beat 'em up action.

I've no problem with the square button. Obviously that's an issue that's been addressed in the new generation of PSPs. As for the digital pad? EGM/1UP found a solution -- stick a quarter dollar coin over it and it works perfectly for fighting games (roughly the size of a ten pence coin). I've not tried (although my collection of quarter dollars is tempting me), so I don't know, but I'll be happy to give it a pop when Power Stone comes out. Sorry, I'm just finding it hard to believe complaints about controller issues after finding that PSP Katamari's controls work perfectly, despite everything I'd previously heard.
Best handheld fighting game of this generation? Bleach DS, apparently. Fighting game + old style DS = arthritis, surely?

I don't know if they have improved the square button, it is rather picky on Eric's PSP and often need to be pressed much harder than the others to respond, mind you your PSP is newer than his, but I think we would have heard Sony shouting from the rooftops if they had altered the design for the better.

I have heard a lot of reports that the white version is actually a huge improvement on the original, for some reason. Obviously Sony are devoted to isolating early adopters.
If the rumours of them releasing a dual analogue PSP are true then I'll make it my mission to personally firebomb every single Sony office in the world.

Will ANY PSP game ever be online gaming enabled, for that matter? I thought there were quite a few online titles, NFS: Most Wanted is for sure! What is this problem with the Square button all about? My USA model has no such problem.

It may be down to how people press the button, I find it more natural to press the square button towards its left hand side, which is where I am told the problem comes from due to the pressure sensor being on the right hand side of that button, and I have looked arround, the button sensor placement is the same in all PSP's so it must just be down to people who hold it in a comfortable position like me

Anyway, how can you not like the people who brought you Powerstone Capcom will be knocking at your door for that remark! I'm quite pleased the franchise is resurfacing - shame it's for the PSP, it's well overdue a true follow up. Lol, I know its Capcom, but it has taken soooo long for them to get round to porting it that I automatically associate it with the late Dreamcast. I would of thought the Gamecube would of been the perfect console to port it to... If it is a good port... I might have to force myself to get a PSP...

Sega still kicks ass because games like Sonic, Alex The Kid etc will never grow old. The built in version for the Master System was the best.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World seems a bit jaded nowadays, but it's still fun to blast through. Why don't modern games use Janken matches as boss battles?
