Ever since " Duck hunt" on the original NES, the light gun has been an under-appreciated video game accessory. Perhaps it's because no developer has come up with a model that properly simulates the properties and characteristics of an actual firearm. No one until now, that is. Pelican is proud to introduce their Silent Scope Light Rifle, a light gun designed specifically for Silent Scope Complete on the Xbox gaming system.
How realistic is it? Looking through the scope actually zooms the scope view on the screen, and the gun actually recoils when you take your shot. It's an eerie thrill the first time you lay the crosshairs on a distant target and feel the gun kick when you take him down. The effect is achieved by a sensor just under the scope that detects when your cheek moves behind the gun and triggers the zoom; a linear vibration motor then provides the kick when the trigger is pulled. Don't feel like sniping? No problem; the barrel, shoulder stock and scope are removable, transforming the Silent Scope Light Rifle into a pump-action, pistol grip shotgun. While in shotgun mode, the pump actually reloads the gun.
Along with the motion activated scope and kickback feature, the Silent Scope Light Rifle also lets you chose from several modes of fire, including normal, burst, auto reload and automatic fire. On top of this, it also sports the standard Xbox controller features: D-Pad, A, B, X and Y buttons, black, white, start and back buttons and even an auxiliary port for a memory card or Xbox live.
Bottom line is that this is THE light gun for the Xbox. An incredible amount of time, thought and effort went into making the Silent Scope Light Rifle an accurate representation of arcade shooting, and it shows.
